SOMEHOW, WE’RE HERE
Nearly ten years. Countless stories. A few questionable decisions. And a whole lot of heart.
When Spark started in 2017, we didn't have a camera. We didn't have a studio. We sure as hell didn't have a business plan.
We had a belief.
A belief that everyone has a story worth telling. That the right story, told the right way, could bring people together, challenge perspectives, and change the way we see the world.
We had absolutely no idea where that belief would take us.
Nearly a decade later, we've found ourselves on construction sites, in boardrooms, backstage at concerts, inside classrooms, and sitting across from people whose stories have changed our lives.
We've worked with national brands, family-owned businesses, nonprofits, musicians, artists, educators, and everyday people doing extraordinary things. We've celebrated milestones, explored difficult conversations, documented legacies, and helped organizations discover the humanity behind what they do.
We've met people from every walk of life. We've laughed with strangers, cried during interviews, traveled to places we never expected to go, and learned more about the human experience than we ever could have imagined.
And somewhere along the way, the stories started changing us, too.
What began as a 22-year-old chasing an idea has grown into a creative studio built on collaboration, curiosity, and a healthy appetite for adventure. With Chris joining the journey and the opening of our Columbus studio, Spark became more than a business. It became a brand, a creative home, and a community of people who believe in what we're building.
And through all the different clients, industries, personalities, and adventures, one thing has remained constant:
The world doesn't need more content. It needs more humanity.
We're living in an increasingly automated, distracted, and disconnected world. It's never been easier to produce something, and never been harder to make someone genuinely feel something.
We think that's worth fighting for.
Our job isn't simply to point a camera at someone and press record. It's to ask better questions. To listen. To challenge people to let their guard down, embrace their imperfections, and show up as themselves.
Because real stories don't come from perfect scripts. They come from real people.
As we approach ten years of Spark, we're incredibly proud of the work we've done and the relationships we've built. But we're not interested in resting on what we've accomplished.
There are more stories to uncover. More people to meet. More places to explore. And plenty of ideas that probably sound a little crazy until somebody gives them a shot.
We've come a long way from having nothing but a belief.
Turns out, that was all we needed to get started.
Somehow, here we are.
And we're just getting started.
Cheers,
Joey & Chris
